Counterfeiting “CHANEL” Trademark
Owner of the Trademark: French AA Company
Infringer:Shanxi XX Knitting Factory
Facts:
The trademark "CHANEL" of the Requestor, French AA Company, has been registered in China and it is a worldwide-recognized well-known mark.
In June of 1994, the infringer, Shanxi XX Knitting Factory was entrusted by the others to produce the clothing with the marks of "CHANEL" & device which is the registered trademark of the Requestor.
What the Appellee did is a sort of infringing act which had obviously infringed the exclusive right of the registered trademark by intention. Such infringing act has seriously harmed the Requestor’s reputation and interests; and gone against the relevant provisions of the Trademark Law.
Therefore, the Requestor entrusted the agent of our Company to make complaint in the Xi'an Administration for Industry & Commerce (AIC).
Resolution:
With the coordination and help of Xi'an AIC, a great amount of infringing products and marks had been confiscated, and a fine of 10,000 yuan RMB had been imposed on the infringer. Please see the Disposition Resolution for the details.
